several months ago i started my application to become a lecturer at my alma mater, cal poly pomona. today, the application sits just as it was several months ago. my goal this week is to update my cv and eventually mail in my application. soon as i complete that task, i need to follow up with three faculty letters that must be submitted in order for my application to become complete.

after that, start up a high interest savings account.

finally, open up a new credit card account to build my credit.

nobody writes nowadays. a loss of original thought is a disease that has consumed the masses, has consumed me. the world has become dry and i am lost in a pile of re-blogs/quotes/postings. though i am thankful for those handful of eloquent bloggers whom i admire deeply, i’ve realized that i have succumb to this disease. so what or who is to blame? perhaps the fact that i have not had the time to actually reflect on life since i’ve moved to LA. the fact that i’ve been hella busy doing god knows what. or the fact that i’ve completely lost all ability to reflect and thus process–intellectually.

so this is me attempting to cure myself. learning + reflection = growth. back to the habit of processing, to break out of this funk. this is my step one.

Went to Hoi! last night and had an amazing time. It was held at the Bayanihan Community Center and sposored by Kularts.

Made me realize how out of touch I have been in terms of the Fil-am art/theater/whatever you call it community. I definitely need to learn how to appreciate these types of spaces more when I move back home.

it’s always important to document where you are heading. for some, there is a roadmap to life. some may have scribbled them on paper napkins just a few days ago, others may have had them written years ago. it was not until the past couple years when i realized that having road maps don’t always fly. sometimes you just need to go where the wind takes you, be driven by the moment–without preordained notions of happiness, of emotions and ego. breathe in that cool air and jump into the unknown and see what it feels like.

this has been one of the most insane weeks ever. from friends visiting to seattle, my body is spent; from nights of no sleep to countless bottles of beer i have done a number to my body. i going to spend the next couple of days just recovering and reflecting on what an awesome summer i have been having thus far.

on that note, i just realized that i have not spent two consecutive weeks in san francisco ever since i graduated. with weekends of going home to socal, vegas, and seattle, i have not given san francisco its fair share of myself. thus, i will make it a point to stay in sf for my remaining month in the bay.

its going to be insane.

p.s. i’m on a boat!

i’m a fan of the angels, because heck, they’ve been my next door neighbor all my life.

i like the dodgers because…i like the lakers? i like tradition, and i love LA.

i like the BOSTON red sox, yes those red sox. despite the contradiction, they did beat the yanks. to be honest, everyone hates the yanks and a nemesis of an enemy is a dear friend of mine. (fuck the celtics)

i’m rooting for the giants because they have lincecum and i’ve been a san franciscan for the past two years.
